Ospreys have only won twice this season in the Pro14 but the worst-performing Welsh region look decent value in the rugby betting odds against an out-of-sorts Cardiff Blues

Welsh derbies between the Cardiff Blues and Ospreys have tended to be low-quality, low-scoring affairs in recent years and it is hard to see this being any different.

Blues were very disappointing last time out in going down to Scarlets, and it was confirmed today that they have lost livewire scrum-half, Tomos Williams, for the next three to four months through injury.

Ospreys’ 20-20 draw with Dragons confirmed their fate as the worst Welsh region in the Pro14 this season, and they too will be without one of their main attacking threats, George North, through suspension.

North was given his marching orders in the 18th minute of the clash at the Liberty Stadium and was handed a four-week ban.

Ospreys have struggled to score tries as it is, crossing the whitewash on just 19 occasions in the Pro14, and only have two wins to their name.

One of their defeats was a 19-16 reverse at home to the Blues but, generally speaking, they have enjoyed the upper hand in the head-to-head. That victory was the Blues’ first in Swansea since 2005.

With that in mind, the 9/5 on offer for an away win looks decent value, just so long as they can find some way to score points.
