PREDICTION – GLOS BY 8

WORCESTER WARRIORS

Worcester are a different proposition when at home compared to away but it’s not like they have to travel far for Friday’s Gallagher Premiership encounter against Gloucester.

The Warriors will be buoyed by last week’s win against Exeter whereas Gloucester have only one win in four.

Worcester haven’t won at Kingsholm since 2009 but the 11/1 Paddy Power are offering on them ending their 13-year wait looks great value.

If nothing else, take the +20 on the handicap.

Gloucester: 15. Kyle Moyle; 14. Santiago Carreras, 13. Chris Harris, 12. Mark Atkinson, 11. Ollie Thorley; 10. Adam Hastings, 9. Ben Meehan; 1. Val Rapava-Ruskin, 2. Santiago Socino, 3. Fraser Balmain, 4. Freddie Clarke *, 5. Matias Alemanno, 6. Jordy Reid, 7. Lewis Ludlow (c), 8. Ruan Ackermann

Worcester: 15 Noah Heward, 14 Alex Hearle, 13 Oli Morris, 12 Ashley Beck, 11 Perry Humphreys, 10 Fin Smith, 9 Will Chudley, 1 Lewis Holsey, 2 Niall Annett, 3 Christian Judge, 4 Joe Batley, 5 Graham Kitchener, 6 Kyle Hatherell, 7 Ted Hill (C), 8 Sione Vailanu.

PREDICTION – BATH BY 2

SALE SHARKS

Matches between these two teams tend to be close-run affairs (five of the last six have seen a losing bonus point awarded) which makes us think Bath getting six points is the bet here.

The Blue, Black & Whites have discovered some format last and have Sam Underhill and Taulupe Faletau back in the back row mix.

Manu Tuilagi was originally selected to start for Sale but has been withdrawn, depriving them of a world-class player, plus AJ MacGinty is out injured.

Much will hinge on whether Bath can cope with the physicality of the Sale pack.

Bath: 15 Tom de Glanville, 14 Will Butt, 13 Jonathan Joseph, 12 Max Clark, 11 Will Muir, 10 Danny Cipriani, 9 Ben Spencer ©; 1 Arthur Cordwell, 2 Jacques du Toit, 3 Will Stuart, 4 Will Spencer, 5 Ewan Richards, 6 Josh Bayliss, 7 Sam Underhill, 8 Nathan Hughes

Replacements: 16 Tom Doughty, 17 Will Vaughan, 18 D’Arcy Rae, 19 Richard de Carpentier, 20 Harry Casson, 21 Joe Simpson, 22 Orlando Bailey, 23 Joe Cokanasiga

Sale Sharks: 15. Luke James, 14. Tom Roebuck, 13. Sam James, 12. Rohan Janse van Rensburg, 11. Arron Reed, 10, Rob du Preez, 9. Faf de Klerk; 1. Bevan Rodd, 2. Ewan Ashman, 3. Coenie Oosthuizen, 4. Jean-Luc du Preez, 5. Lood de Jager, 6. Jono Ross, 7. Ben Curry, 8. Dan du Preez.

Replacements: 16. Curtis Langdon, 17. Simon McIntyre, 18. Joe Jones, 19. JP du Preez, 20. Cobus Wiese, 21. Gus Warr, 22. Tom Curtis, 23. Jack Metcalf

NORTHAMPTON SAINTS

Saints have some of their big names back, principally Dan Biggar and Courtney Lawes, but we still fancy Irish to keep pushing forward, especially at home in their St Patrrick’s Day game.

The play-offs look beyond Saints but a win here would keep Irish’s top four hopes very much alive.

London Irish: 15 James Stokes, 14 Kyle Rowe, 13 Lucio Cinti, 12 Benhard van Rensburg, 11 Ollie Hassell-Collins, 10 Paddy Jackson, 9 Nick Phipps, 1 Will Goodrick-Clarke, 2 Agustin Creevy, 3 Ollie Hoskins, 4 Chunya Munga, 5 Rob Simmons, 6 Matt Rogerson (c), 7 Juan Martin Gonzalez, 8 Seán O’Brien.

Replacements: 16 Matt Cornish, 17 Facundo Gigena, 18 Luke Green, 19 George Nott, 20 Tom Pearson, 21 Olly Cracknell, 22 Ben White, 23 Tom Parton.

Northampton: 15 George Furbank; 14 Courtnall Skosan, 13 Fraser Dingwall, 12 Rory Hutchinson, 11 Tom Collins; 10 Dan Biggar, 9 Alex Mitchell; 1 Alex Waller, 2 Sam Matavesi, 3 Paul Hill (150th appearance for Saints), 4 David Ribbans, 5 Api Ratuniyarawa, 6 Courtney Lawes, 7 Lewis Ludlam (c), 8 Juarno Augustus

Replacements: 16 Mike Haywood, 17 Nick Auterac, 18 Conor Carey, 19 Alex Moon, 20 Alex Coles, 21 Tom James, 22 Tom Litchfield, 23 Tommy Freeman

PREDICTION – TBC

BRISTOL BEARS

You’d never have predicted at the start of the season that the newly-promoted side from the Championship would be 18-point favourites against the previous year’s Premiership semi-finalists.

But it just goes to show how quickly Saracens have readjusted to life at the top level and how far Bristol have fallen that this is the case here.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium becomes the 40th different venue to host a Premiership Rugby fixture and we expect Sarries, who currently sit second in the table, to put on a performance befitting a top-class venue.

With Max Malins and Ben Earl in the home team’s XV, Bristol will be reminded of what they are missing. Those two were brilliant for the Bears whilst on loan at Ashton Gate from Saracens.

Bears boss Pat Lam raised some eyebrows with his selection of a number of youngsters ahead of star turns like Charles Piutau and Semi Radradra who have to be content with a place amongst the replacements.

You’d expect a strong finish to the game from Bristol considering the strength of their bench but it is debatable they’ll be able to cover the 18-point handicap.

Backing Sarries at Even money to score over 17 points makes sense.

Saracens: 15 Alex Goode; 14 Max Malins, 13 Alex Lozowski, 12 Nick Tompkins, 11 Elliot Daly; 10 Owen Farrell (capt.), Aled Davies; 1 Richard Barrington, 2 Jamie George, 3 Vincent Koch, 4 Maro Itoje, 5 Nick Isiekwe, 6 Jackson Wray, 7 Ben Earl, 8 Billy Vunipola

Replacements: 16 Tom Woolstencroft, 17 Eroni Mawi,, 18 Sam Wainwright, 19 Tim Swinson, 20 Andy Christie, 21 Ruben de Haas, 22 Duncan Taylor, 23 Sean Maitland

Bristol: 15. Rich Lane, 14. Alapati Leiua, 13. Piers O’Conor, 12. Antoine Frisch, 11. Jack Bates, 10. Tiff Eden, 9. Harry Randall; 1. Jake Woolmore, 2. Harry Thacker, 3. Jake Armstrong, 4. Dave Attwood, 5. Joe Joyce (c), 6. Chris Vui, 7. Dan Thomas, 8. Fitz Harding.

16. Jake Kerr, 17. Yann Thomas, 18. John Afoa, 19. Sam Jeffries, 20. Max Green, 21. Callum Sheedy, 22. Semi Radradra, Chasrles Piutau
