Friday 17 September is when the Gallagher Premiership kicks off again with Bristol Bears’ game against Saracens a mouthwatering curtain-raiser to what should be another enthralling season.
Whereas once Ben Earl and Max Malins were cheered on by the Bears’ faithful, they will be in the opposition ranks at Ashton Gate thatnight following their return to Sarries from a season-long loan deal in the West Country.
While their presence boosts Sarries’ squad no end, we still find it surprising that the men in black have been installed as pre-season favourites by the bookmakers on their first season back up from the Championship.
