France v Scotland: Six Nations Rugby tips

Your best rugby tips for the all-important final match of Six Nations 2021 as title-chasing France take on Scotland in Paris.

If Scotland win in Paris for the first time since 1999, it will be the biggest shock in this year’s Six Nations from a betting point of view.

The Scots are a best-priced 11/2 to spoil Les Bleus’ party at the Stade de France, whereas they were 9/2 to win against England in round one.

Whilst a Scotland win isn’t impossible, it is improbable given the lack of success by the boys in dark blue in the French capital. But the even money offered by Bet 365 for Scotland +16 on the handicap looks worth taking.

This is a Scotland team that has more than doubled its try tally from the 2020 campaign, when they were the only team to beat France, with 15 tries scored to seven last year, and they should be good for at least a couple more on Friday night.

Fine margins?

In captain Stuart Hogg and Finn Russell they have players more than capable of firing a few shots in attack and we think the visitors will do enough on the scoreboard to prevent France from getting the 21-point margin they need to be crowned champions. You have to go back to 2007 to find the last time that France beat the Scots by such a distance.

Hogg to score a try has been powered up from a widely available 7/2 to 4/1 by Paddy Power and we’re confident the full-back can oblige in a game where there should be plenty of spaces given the emphasis on attack.

France will no doubt go at their task hell for leather as they look to secure a first title since 2010, and the race for 30 points (4/7, Paddy Power) looks theirs for the taking.
