Grand Slam conversion rate bodes well for Wales

History suggests Wales will get over the final hurdle and beat France in Paris on Saturday evening.

Wales are now 5/6 to win Six Nations 2021, having been 12/1 at the start of the Championship, and are 12/5, down from 33/1, to bag a 13th Grand Slam and a fifth of the Six Nations era.

Saturday’s comprehensive win over Italy made it four wins from four for Wayne Pivac’s men following earlier wins over Ireland, Scotland and England and now it is only France that stand in their way.

The bookmakers make Wales seven-point underdogs to beat Les Bleus in Paris, which goes against what history has taught us.

Wales’ record in the final match when going for a Grand Slam is really impressive: they have come out on top in 12 out of their 15 attempts and have a 100% four from four record in the Six Nations.

Saturday will be a massive test as France still have their own title aspirations, but when it comes down to the crunch, Wales don’t tend to fluff their lines.
